After 7 years away, we were keen to return to Old Continent and these 3 gorgeous boys in Geneva where our first European customers. From left to right, Babyone and Fatpuss (British Shorthairs) and Podae (Russian Blue). All 3 very sweet boys, what a shame that we only had 5 days with them!

Fatpuss and Podae were sociable, confident, friendly cats. Podae was more independent, but Fatpuss, despite his imposing appearance (he was a BIG cat!), was really just a big softie with a very placid nature.

We were warned however that Babyone was “extremely scared of strangers” and could well hide in a room upstairs for our entire stay. They mentioned how their friends called him the “invisible cat” and how others insisted he was grumpy and unfriendly – poor little thing!

Upon meeting him, it seemed pretty obvious to us that he was simply a very shy cat, and all he needed was a little patience and people who would understand him and work with him.

After trying a few things from our usual “box of tricks”, by the end of the first day he was happily having dinner with the other two; and when he was done, he came over for a head rub, as if to say “thank you for the grub!”.

After that, he was a perfectly normal cat. He went for walks in the garden, he had his daytime naps downstairs with the others, he played confidently and, when he felt like it, came over for some love. And he was also quite happy to chill in the middle of the floor, belly up, without a care in the world.

We wish we could have spent more time with them all!
